Apple is all set to launch its Apple Watch today at a special event in San Francisco. If you want to stream the event live, you’ll need to go here.
Of course you’ll need an Apple device like an iPhone, iPad or Mac or Apple TV to stream event and you can only stream it on Safari version 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 6.2 or later.
You can follow our live blog below for further details:
The Apple Watch is priced at $349 which comes to around Rs 21,000 when converted without taxes. It compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus running the latest version of iOS 8.
It will come in three editions: Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. Apple Watch Edition is plated with 18 karat gold. The two different screen sizes are 38 mm and 42 mm.
The Watch is crafted from custom alloys of polished or space black stainless steel (Apple Watch), space gray or silver anodized aluminum (Apple Watch Sport) and 18-karat rose or yellow gold (Apple Watch Edition).
The Watch also has Apple’s custom-designed S1 SiP (System in Package) miniature chip. It features Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair with your iPhone. Apple has also introduced something called the Digit Crown, a little round button on the side which you can tweak to scroll, zoom in, navigate in the apps. The Digital Crown is also the Home Button and a way to access Siri.
For now we don’t know what the battery life will be like on this thing nor do we know if this Watch will launch in India or not. Hopefully the Apple event will shed light on more details.
