With a launch date reportedly set for as late as September, it could be a while before we learn anything official about the Sony Xperia Z4, the company’s next flagship smartphone. However, a leak today seems to show an early press render for the handset, but at the moment this is a rumor because the images in question are apparently only early drafts and not final designs.
That basically means the final design of the Xperia Z4 may differ from the image you see above. That makes sense if the handset is still months from release, but at the same time Sony is unlikely to make any radical changes between now and then. Sure, the final product may look different to this, but the fundamental design language should remain the same.
That’s a good thing too as the in this guise the Xperia Z4 looks very appealing. Typically premium in look, as are all Sony flagships, the handset looks slick with a metal frame (likely sandwiched between two glass panels).
The Sony Xperia Z4 is set to be a true flagship in every aspect, and while the Xperia Z3 merely updated the Z2, the new handset will be a bigger jump. It will have a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 20.7 megapixel camera module, and of course waterproofing. Sony is reported to be reverting back to launching one flagship per year after launching two per year through the life cycle of the Xperia Z range.
