Xiaomi’s Mi Note is only a couple of months old and is among the best high end devices (it’s not quite a flagship) that can be bought, even if it is a China exclusive. The company is now refreshing the device and making it even more enticing with the release of the Mi Note Natural Bamboo Edition.
The handset pretty much does what it says on the tin and gives the already elegant Mi Note a bamboo rear plate. It also has advantages aside from being aesthetically pleasing, such as the fact it makes the Mi Note 5 grams lighter. On top of that, Xiaomi has decided to leave the price unchanged and will not charge a premium for the Natural Bamboo Edition. That means this smartphone is available in China for the equivalent of $370, it will go on sale from March 24.
The Mi Note packs a standard Full HD 1080p screen, and a Snapdragon 801 chip from Qualcomm, 3GB of RAM, a 3,000 mAh juicer, 13 megapixel rear camera, and a 4 megapixel selfie front shooter. Xiaomi did not say whether the Snapdragon 810, Quad HD packing Mi Note Pro will be getting its own bamboo variant, but we expect an announcement to be made at some point.
