128GB Note 5 and S6 Edge+ could ease your missing microSD slot pain

Take heart if you were disappointed by Samsung's decision not to include a memory card expansion slot inside its latest phablets - it looks like the South Korean firm is going to add 128GB options to the line-up after all.

In its official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, Samsung said the phablets would be available with 32GB or 64GB of storage. That line was repeated in the company's press release.

However, as PocketNow has spotted, 128GB editions have popped up on Samsung's own website. Considering there's no option to add a microSD card, that extra space could really come in handy.

Going large

Is this an error on the part of those running the Samsung website? Or are there really bigger and better phablets in the pipeline? Until Samsung says one way or the other, we don't know.

We'd certainly welcome a bigger amount of storage, even with the inevitable price rise that would go alongside it - a worry over the amount of available space is one of our biggest concerns about the new handsets.

There's not long to wait to find out for sure: both handsets launch in the US on 21 August. The UK is only getting the S6 Edge+ for the time being, and it hits these shores on 4 September.
