It’s a well-known rumor that we could get two Nexus devices this year. Most people paying attention to this space also know that LG and Huawei look to be the manufacturers responsible for crafting those devices. But what’s just trickled into the rumor bucket could say a lot about the size of these phones and how well they fit (or won’t) into your pocket.
LG’s rumored Nexus device for 2015 could very well be a Nexus 5 reboot at heart, but the leaked dimensions indicate that it might be a bit bigger. OnLeaks’s numbers for the metal phone read in at 146.9 x 72.9 x 9.8 8mm. Just for comparison’s sake, that’s about 9mm longer, 4mm wider and about 1mm thicker than the Nexus 5.
Moving onto the next Nexus phone rumored to be handled by Huawei, this one could for those who love a lot of screen real estate. The rumored dimensions read in at 159.4 x 78.3 x 8.5 6.6mm. Motorola’s Nexus 6 is pretty comparable in terms of size, coming in at 159.3 x 83 x 10.1 3.8mm.
That’s not all we’ve heard of the supposed 2015 Nexus phones. What’s rumored to be inside of them hasn’t been exactly been a well-kept secret either. The LG Nexus phone said to be coming this year could come stocked with a 5.2-inch, 1080p P-OLED screen, an octa-core Snapdragon 620 system on chip (SoC,) 4GB of RAM, 13MP camera, 64GB of onboard storage and a non-removable 3180mAh battery.
If the rumors we’ve heard are true, Huawei’s Nexus might rock a 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 820 SoC with a 21MP camera and wireless charging support.
So, what’s left to surprise us with? Plenty. I, personally, can’t wait to see what they look like, as only hearing about the dimensions and built materials that make up a Nexus phone doesn’t usually paint a picture that’s half as pretty as the end product itself. But, we’ll all have to wait until later in the year to see if these rumored devices ever surface.
