Meizu has announced a launch event that will take place on September 23rd, where the company will almost certainly debut its newest smartphone flagship. The invite comes with the slogan, MEIZU GO PRO, which probably doesn’t mean a collaboration with Go Pro (unfortunately), but is more likely signaling the Chinese company is preparing its MX5 Pro smartphone for launch.
The Meizu MX5 Pro will land with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, which actually kind of flies in other Meizu tropes as the company is known for decking its devices with blazing specs. So why it there no Quad HD panel on the MX5 Pro? Well, Meizu’s president has said in the past that the company thinks Quad HD is pointless on a smartphone, a view that is shared by many screen experts.
Other specs will include 4GB or RAM alongside Samsung's Exynos 7420 chipset, a 21 megapixel rear camera (made by Sony), a 5 megapixel front facer, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and an enticing $470 price tag at launch.
