Pebble was one of the first companies to embrace the wearable idea with its e-ink screen Pebble and then Pebble Steel. Since then smartwatches have added features and become more advanced, but still the startup company has carved a niche with its stripped back approach. Today Pebble announced that the Pebble Round smartwatch will be landing in the U.S. on November 8, with pre-orders starting now.
The device was launched back in September as the company’s first round faced wearable and comes with such features as an e-paper display with LED backlight. The smartwatch is splash-resistant, comes with a stainless steel chassis, activity tracker, access to Pebble's appstore, and battery life up to 2 days. It boasts a color back-lit screen and is svelte at just 7.5mm, which Pebble says makes this the thinnest smartwatch on the market.
The Pebble Round will be available in bricks and mortar locations for Best Buy and Target, while online you can grab one from Best Buy, Target, Amazon, and from Pebble’s online store. The wearable can be pre-ordered right now and will be shipping for $249.99.
