We have had a lot of information about the LG Class over the last seven days, and all those leaks hinted to a premium mid-range handset. However, its turns out the handset is actually a premium smartphone with budget specs and a hefty price tag. LG unveiled the Class officially today as an exclusive to Asian markets.

The best thing about the LG Class is its design. It sports an all metal body, which is a first for LG as even LG’s flagship G4 is clad in plastic and leather. While the Class is an uninspiring device in terms of specs, this metal design could be LG pointing to future handsets that will be metal, just like Samsung did with the Galaxy Alpha.

The LG Class sports a 5-inch screen with a 720p resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 412, 2GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, 16GB of internal storage, a micro SD card slot, 2050 mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera, and an 8 megapixel front facing lens.

So, good design, poor specs. We doubt LG is going to have a popular smartphone with the Class, especially as it costs $339, which is over $100 more expensive than far superior handsets like the ASUS ZenFone 2 and the 2015 Moto G.
