If you’re rocking the previous-gen HTC One M8, and you missed Zoe mode, you’re in luck – just head to the Play Store to update your HTC Camera app, and Zoe should be back right where you’re used to seeing it!

Here’s the complete (short) changelog:

• Zoe camera mode is back for the HTC One M8 and HTC Butterfly 2!
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

If you remember, Zoe works kind of the same way that Auto-awesome did on Google+ Photos (now rebranded as “Assistant” on Google Photos), making animated GIFs out of your collections of photos. My only experience with it is with my HTC RE, and I found it quite useless and subsequently turned it off right away. But it’s got a solid fan base that was ticked when it disappeared from the HTC One M8.

At least HTC is listening to its users.
