Xiaomi has said earlier in the year that it is waiting for Qualcomm to launch the Snapdragon 820 processor before it will in turn unveil its Mi 5 flagship smartphone. We expected that would be early in 2016 as the Snapdragon 820 was widely predicted to land in January. However, it is being reported today that the 820 will land sooner than thought and that means we could see the Mi 5 on December 3.

The reports suggest that Qualcomm will unveil the Snapdragon 820 on November 20 and that Mi 5 will comes a couple of weeks later. Of course, Xiaomi has been waiting a long time as the Mi 4 current flagship will be is well over a year old and its specs are behind its competitors. We expect that the Mi 5 will rectify that with market leading specs.
